Angeline is an exceptional violin teacher who truly cares about her students' growth and development. She is incredibly patient and always pays close attention to details, making sure students build strong and healthy violin techniques from the very beginning. Her teaching provides a solid technical foundation while also nurturing musicality, expression, and artistry. She also provides wonderful performance opportunities for her students, including two recitals each year that help students build confidence and stage experience. In addition, she encourages collaboration and ensemble playing by offering chamber music opportunities, which are invaluable for developing listening skills, teamwork, and musicianship. For students interested in the Certificate of Merit program, she is very knowledgeable and supportive throughout the preparation process. She carefully guides students through the requirements while helping them grow steadily as musicians. We are very grateful for her dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for my daughter's violin study in the past 7 years. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled, patient, and inspiring violin teacher.

We feel so fortunate to have found Angeline as a violin teacher. She is truly an exceptional and one-of-a-kind violin teacher. From the beginning, Angeline places a strong emphasis on building a great technical foundation, especially developing a beautiful and controlled bow hand. These are the kinds of skills that set her students apart and elevate their playing to a higher level. Angeline holds her students to very high standards, but she does so with care, intention, and a deep commitment to each child's growth. In fact, my daughter had to relearn how to bow for almost a year; however, the time and effort was worth it. Angeline knows exactly how to challenge her students to reach their fullest potential while providing the structure, clarity, and encouragement they need to succeed. The progress and growth we've seen in our daughter the past two years has been remarkable. She has grown not only in technical ability and tone, but also in confidence, discipline, and musical expression. It's clear that Angeline's thoughtful, detail-oriented approach brings out the best in her students. If you're looking for a teacher who is deeply committed to excellence, meticulous, and genuinely brings out the best in her students, we couldn't recommend Angeline more.

I came to Angeline as an adult beginner with a quiet fear that I had waited too long to start violin. That fear didn't survive my first few lessons. Angeline has a rare ability to meet students exactly where they are. She never made me feel like a novelty or an exception, just a student with work to do and the capacity to do it. Her instruction is structured and clear, with genuine attention to technique, but she also knows when to slow down and rebuild a foundation rather than just push forward. What I didn't expect was how encouraged I'd feel. Adult learners carry a different kind of self-consciousness, and Angeline seems to understand that without it ever needing to be said. Progress felt real and earned, not artificially inflated. Waiting for my lessons, I've also watched her work with younger students. She's patient, engaging, and clearly knows how to hold a kid's attention without losing the substance of the instruction. She's genuinely good with all ages. She also holds recitals for her students, which I think says a lot about how seriously she takes their development. I'm not there yet, but making it onto that stage one day is something I'm actually working toward now, and that's not something I would have said before studying with her. If you're on the fence about picking up the violin, whether you're an adult who thinks it's too late or a parent looking for the right fit for your kid, Angeline is the answer. Hands down the best teacher you'll find.

My child has been studying violin with Angeline for over three years, starting at the age of six, and we could not be more grateful for the impact she has had on his musical development. One of the things that sets Angeline apart is her unwavering emphasis on strong fundamentals. From the very beginning, she focused on proper technique, posture, and good tone. At times, it may have seemed slow and frustrating, but as my child has progressed, it has become clear how valuable that foundation is. The skills and habits she instilled early on continue to pay dividends as he tackles more challenging repertoire. Angeline holds her students to high standards while providing the support and guidance they need to reach them. She consistently encourages them to strive for their best and does not settle for mediocrity. Her expectations are high, but they are always paired with thoughtful instruction, patience, and genuine care for each student's growth. What has been especially meaningful for our family is Angeline's commitment to chamber music education. She not only introduces her students to chamber music at an early stage but intentionally teaches the listening, communication, and collaboration skills that make chamber playing such a rewarding experience. She organizes chamber groups among her students and carefully coaches them through the process, helping them learn how to play as an ensemble rather than simply as individual musicians. Through Angeline's guidance, my child discovered a new level of enjoyment in music-making. Playing chamber music transformed from a solo activity into a shared musical experience, and it has become one of his favorite aspects of learning music. The confidence, musicianship, and teamwork skills he has developed through these opportunities have been invaluable. We are also thankful for Angeline's ability to recognize potential in her students. When she encouraged my child to audition for the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra (PACO), we were honestly unsure whether he was ready. Angeline believed in him before we did. He auditioned, and has thoroughly enjoyed the experience. That opportunity has opened new doors for his musical growth, and we are grateful for her encouragement and insight. Above all, Angeline is an exceptionally dedicated teacher who carefully and meticulously guides each student through their musical journey. She is deeply invested in their progress and takes a thoughtful, long-term approach to developing both technical excellence and genuine musicianship. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Angeline as our child's violin teacher. Her expertise, dedication, high standards, and commitment to nurturing well-rounded musicians have made all the difference, and we wholeheartedly recommend her to any family seeking an outstanding violin teacher.

Angeline is a fantastic violin teacher who is dedicated to her art, and very committed to her teaching. She gives her 100% concentration to you during class. Most importantly she is able to identify accurately how to improve your violin playing and sound. She breaks down into specific pointers for her students and voila! suddenly the sound improves dramatically - all with the same lesson. This makes violin learning become a formula that's easy to understand, where students do this + that + those = good music. (The *tough* part is repeating these same formula consistently each time the kids practice at home - but my, the instructions are golden at Angeline's post-its!) My daughter has improved dramatically in her 1.5 years with Angeline - from having scratchy sound and a bow traveling everywhere on the violin, to getting recognized and a prize winner at a prize competition. Angeline is definitely someone who can help you progress to the next level of violin playing, and serious students looking to further their violin performances. I just wished my kids had joined her sooner!

My 9-year old daughter has been taking violin lessons with Angeline for about three years, and it has been a wonderful journey for us. Angeline is such a positive, dedicated, patient and amazingly skilled violin teacher. Her teaching method is excellent. She is organized and thoughtful about her teaching strategy. She emphasized fundamental bow techniques and posture. She clearly know how to teach to a first time student and connected well with young music learners. Angeline pays attention to details that insists on correct hand position, good intonation, rhythm, correct shifting, vibrato, bowing, and practicing techniques while assigning appropriate music, and keeping students motivated to practice. I really can't ask for a better teacher for my daughter. My daughter's violin skills have improved substantially and her love and interest in playing violin is high. We feel very lucky and grateful to have Angeline as my daughter's violin teacher, and I highly recommend her to anyone who is thinking about learning violin.

Angeline is a dedicated teacher, driven to bring out the best in her students. She's a tough educator and a gift to any violin student who starts off with her. She has a strong focus on teaching the basics, before attempting to reach other musical heights. She also teaches some music theory which most private music teachers don't seem to find time for. One of the best music teachers around.

My daughter has studied with Angeline for over two years, and my son for over one year. They both had no previous violin experience. Angeline is an amazing violinist, and a highly dedicated and extraordinary teacher. She focuses on helping students develop excellent technique, as well as artistic expression. They have made impressive progress in the short time that they have been studying with her, and have grown to love the violin. Angeline is truly an outstanding teacher, and greatly loved by my children.

Ms. Angeline is a wonderful teacher! My daughter learned from Ms. Angeline for two years and we do see her dramatically improved in her skills and techniques. My son saw his sister played and then also started to learn from Ms. Angeline one year ago. Both of them enjoy violin class so much! Ms. Angeline is not only teaching them skills but helping them love the music from their hearts! It's the most valuable thing for us as the parents! Thank you, Ms. Angeline!

It is my pleasure to share my experience, and hopefully it's helpful to future seekers of a gratifying violin education. I started playing the violin pretty late, not until I got into college. Although being passionate about the instrument, I wasn't fortunate enough to find the right teacher until I started. After a few years, I could bring out the sound I expected. When my wife convinced me to pick it up and start all over in my 30s, I couldn't have realized my passion for violin playing was still there. That's when Angeline came into the picture. There are too many things I can talk about, to make things easier, I would summarize it into what I think are the most important points. * Attention to detail: Angeline is a perfectionist, and she notices the tiniest details: tone, pitch, posture, left hand form, bow hand finger movement, tension on both hands, arm movement, fingering, phrasing, and everything. Ambitious students can be assured that they will get a supervision of the highest standard. Of course, Angeline has absolute pitch, and I find that admirable and incredibly helpful. * Musicality: Sometimes I'm late for a lesson, arriving at the door I hear her playing by herself. She usually sounds joyful with pieces like Mozart or Bach, and every time they remind me how lucky I am to have a teacher who plays like that. * Balanced Teaching: Angeline was educated classically in France, and I fully enjoy the rich heritage (like growing up in a musical family probably also helped a lot). She holds a master's degree from SF Conservatory of Music and she has played with SF Opera, as well as other local orchestras, which means she is culturally well balanced, and that definitely reflects in her teaching style; rigorous, but also warm and encouraging and very patient (she usually lets me see my own pace, unless I am really just procrastinating). * Dedication and Passion: Angeline is a fascinatingly dedicated and organized person, and more so when it comes to teaching her students. No need to say, students get 100% of her attention in class, but what amazes me most is that she is always musically enthusiastic about every piece we study in every class, even in days she has classes from 8am to 7pm. I guess the answer would be she loves music and she loves teaching.

My daughter started learning violin at Bronstein Music School in SSF. She was not very fond of the teacher and was having trouble finding a suitable player to play with. After one or two of struggle, we decided to switch teacher. We were lucky to find Angeline on Yelp who came highly recommended (albeit no rating on yelp). Angeline was very selective about her students. She actually "interviewed" to make sure that we were willing to make serious commitments. She would ask all of her students to lock their practice time and would hand out rewards to the hardest working student at the end of session. She emphasized correct bow techniques and posture. My daughter actually had to re-learn from scratch by doing open string for quite some time. Soon enough, my daughter stopped complaining about bow arm and violin sound so much! During the 1.5 year learning with Angeline, my daughter was able to make substantial progress. In fact, she is practicing for a local music competition in the summer! To enrich the joy of music, Angeline provided extra yards to organize and coach chamber music for her students, which were enjoyable experiences for my daughter. It has been a very positive experience overall and we are grateful for Angeline for her dedication as a violin teacher.
