Early lessons develop listening skills, rhythm, a sense of tempo, posture, and a natural relationship with the instrument. Bi-weekly 30-minute private lessons with mandatory parent attendance — parent observes and takes notes so that he/she can help optimize at-home practice.

As soon as students are able to draw the bow on the string well enough, they are encouraged to play in our studio recitals and enjoy the experience of sharing their music with a warm supportive audience.

Within the first 1–2 years, students typically complete the Preparatory division and level 1 of the Certificate of Merit program, if they wish to participate in it. They develop a relaxed bow arm, secure left hand, and a love of music-making that sustains long-term progress.

Lesson length: 30 minutes bi-weekly · Instrument size: 1/10–1/4
